Welcome Reception

Tuesday, June 30

Transportation: Buses will be available from University of Minho at 17:45 and 18:15

The Welcome Reception will take place at Largo do Paço, the Rectorate of the University of Minho, one of Braga’s most emblematic historical buildings.
The former Archbishop’s Palace, located in the heart of the city center, offers a unique setting for participants to meet, network, and enjoy an evening in a landmark of the city’s rich cultural heritage.

 “Vinho Verde” wine tasting experience

Wednesday, July 1

Local: Quinta d'Amares

Transportation: Buses will depart from University of Minho at 18:00

The “Vinho Verde” Wine Tasting Experience will introduce participants to one of Portugal’s most distinctive wine styles, known for its fresh, light, and aromatic character.The tasting will feature a selection of wines from Quinta de Amares, accompanied by traditional Portuguese bites, creating a relaxed and authentic pairing experience.
The visit will begin with the Rendufe Monastery.

The dinner will take place at Colunata Eventos, located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bom Jesus do Monte.
Bom Jesus is one of the most iconic landmarks in the Braga region, known for its monumental Baroque staircase, remarkable architectural ensemble, and scenic hillside setting. It also offers wide panoramic views over the city and surrounding landscape, making it a distinctive and memorable location for the event.

Participants may also reach the venue by the historic water-powered funicular (Elevador do Bom Jesus), which provides a direct and scenic connection up the hill.

Guided tour to the city of Viana do Castelo

Friday, July 3

Local: Viana do Castelo

Transportation: Buses depart from University of Minho at 14:00

The Guided Tour to the city of Viana do Castelo offers participants the opportunity to explore one of the most charming coastal cities in northern Portugal.
The visit includes the iconic Sanctuary of Santa Luzia, located on the hill overlooking the city, known for its impressive architecture and panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean, the river Lima, and the surrounding landscape.
Participants will also enjoy a walk along the city’s riverfront promenade (marginal), followed by free time to explore the historic center, discover local shops, cafés, and experience the relaxed atmosphere of the city at their own pace.
